Tori Rickman

Tori Rickman’s work engages environmental law and policy across sectors, disciplines and borders with a mission to build holistic environmental, social, economic, and political progress. She currently serves as a coordinator for the Environmental Peacebuilding Association, where she supports programming and research that integrates natural resource management in international conflict prevention, mitigation, resolution and recovery. Tori also contributes to the ELI’s Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review, a collaborative annual publication with Vanderbilt University Law School that strives to bridge gaps between academics, policymakers, and practitioners.

Prior to joining the ELI as a Research Associate in August 2022, Tori partnered with nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles to research and devise community-based solutions to local food disparities. She also developed an intersectional natural resource management report for the city of Los Angeles in which she utilized remote sensing techniques to interconnect the city’s uneven water distribution systems and socioeconomic disparities. In 2022, she graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Geography and a minor in geospatial information sciences and technology. Tori would like to acknowledge her presence on traditional, ancestral and unceded native territory and pay her respect to the indigenous caretakers of the land that now supplements her living and learning.
