Vera Morveli
Vera Morveli is a Peruvian-trained attorney with a Master of Laws in Environmental and Energy Law conferred by Georgetown University, where she is a Fulbright scholar. During Summer 2022, she interned at the Environmental and International Law Practice Group of the World Bank. Before the LL.M. program, she worked in several public agencies on issues related to compliance and enforcement of environmental laws. Vera was a legal specialist at the Peruvian Agency for the Supervision of Forest Resources and Wildlife (OSINFOR). She investigated illegal logging, wildlife trade, and mechanisms to protect forestry resources from deforestation. She also worked at the Environmental Assessment and Control Agency (OEFA) where she investigated environmental violations committed by large energy companies. Vera is also a volunteer at the Peruvian Youth for Climate Change Association (JPCC), an NGO which aims to increase young people's participation in climate change policies. She is interested in compliance and enforcement of environmental laws, climate change, and youth.
