Zack Schiffer
Zack studies political science at the University of California, Berkeley. In his capacity as a research and publications intern for the Environmental Law Institute, Zack works on a wide range of projects that explore the intersection between legislation and the environment. Prior to joining ELI, Zack worked as a legislative intern for Rep. Alan Lowenthal in his Long Beach district office. In this capacity, Zack compiled briefing reports on federal legislation impacting his home district. Zack also works with the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice as a community organizer, which involves campaign strategizing alongside activists from across the United States who are disproportionately impacted by Superfund priority sites. He looks forward to continuing his work with ELI this semester and hopes to gain further insight into the ways law can continue to work for people, places, and the planet.
