An ELI Public Webinar
The Environmental Law Institute is inviting you to attend our virtual event on fisheries management in the Caribbean region. This event will focus on the role of data, data tools, and technology used for fisheries management, including for stock assessments and to address IUU fishing.
Our goal is to facilitate a discussion for peer-to-peer exchange of ideas on common issues and potential solutions. Country representatives and local practitioners will be able to share their experiences about various tools available, how they function, and how they have helped with fisheries management.
There are many tools available to collect and analyze data, including data related to catch and effort that are used for stock assessments. There are also tools that help track movement of vessels, analyze their behavior, and identify potential IUU activities. During our event, we will have presentations about various tools, including FishPath, OurFish, FishMAT, Kobo Toolbox, Skylight, tools from Global Fishing Watch, vessel tracking systems, etc. Presentations will be followed by a discussion.
This event will be available in both English and Spanish as we will have simultaneous interpretation.
We hope that you can join us!
