EPA Adopts Wetlands Research Plan

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in January 1986 adopted a Wetlands Research Plan which describes the research necessary to assist the Agency in implementing its responsibilities relative to wetlands, including a §404 of the Clean Water Act. Many of the products will assist EPA personnel in evaluating §404 permit applications. Some will aid the Agency in determining the relative importance of wetlands in altering water quality and, thus, could be relevant to other Clean Water Act programs as well.
