EPA's Contribution to the Greenways Effort

In recent years the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has become increasingly concerned with the loss of wetlands and the environmental functions they provide. As a result, the Agency has expanded its wetlands program. Historically, EPA has emphasized the review of proposals for discharges of dredged and fill material into the waters of the United States under §404 of the Clean Water Act.
