Freshwater Wetland Reclamation By the FLorida Phosphate Industry

In Florida, interest in the preservation of functioning freshwater wetlands has increased steadily over the last decade. Along with the goal of preserving high-quality wetlands acreage comes the challenge of rehabilitating historically damaged or abused areas and of mitigating unavoidable impacts in the state's phosphate surface mining areas. The generic term "reclamation," as used in this article, refers to all activities that involve the creation, restoration, rehabilitation, and mitigation of wetlands.
