Regulatory Reform Equals Good Government

Recently I have been hearing comments which express concern and alarm that my efforts to reform the Army Corps of Engineers’ regulatory program under the Clean Water Act would diminish environmental safeguards generally and, specifically, would result in “degrading the wetlands.” Such an understanding is in error. There has been no proposal by the Army to reduce existing federal jurisdiction or the standards of environmental review for Department of the Army permits.
